The iPhone has a fully functional browser included, so even though the service is from AT&T, the development community has a number of applications that use Apple’s Safari browser to provide the environment. This panel looks at the success stories and how people are taking advantage of it to make new apps. Come see and hear the stories of success.



Andy Abramson, Editor-Blogger, VoIP Watch

Andy Abramson is CEO of Comunicano, Inc., a Del Mar, CA based asymmetrical marketing and public relations agency. In addition to overseeing Comunicano's client related activities, he also authors one of the most widely read VoIP Blogs, Andy Abramson's VoIPWatch and, since 1998, has served as co-host of KenRadio's "World Technology RoundUp". Abramson has a parallel background in technology, consumer, B2B, sports and entertainment marketing that spans 32 years. Online since 1980, he most recently has been named a research fellow and advisory board member of the Society for New Communications Research. He is also a member of the board of directors and treasurer of the Media Bloggers Association, as well as an advisory board member to multiple early stage and privately held companies.


Jeff Black, CEO and Founder, TalkPlus

Jeff Black, Chairman, Founder, Chief Strategy Officer, has over 27 years in high-tech. Black is a 14-year veteran of Digital Equipment Corp (HP) and is a founder of IMI, iAtlas, Resorts.com, Hotels.com and PartnerVision Ventures. Black holds multiple issued and pending patents.



David Jodoin, CEO, Iperia

Jodoin has over 15 years of executive management expertise and a proven track record of substantial revenue growth in the hi-tech industry. In his role as CEO, he provides the drive and corporate leadership for the Iperia as it continues to expand its product portfolio and customer base. Prior to joining Iperia, Jodoin served as CEO for Alpha NetSolutions, Inc. and Cerepoint, Inc. In addition, he's held several senior level positions including executive vice president and general manager of the Vantive Corporation. Jodoin joined Vantive through the acquisition of Innovative Computer Concepts, a company he founded and served as CEO and CTO.



Colby Palmer, Director of New Media Development, The Illusion Factory

Colby Palmer is an iPhone developer and creator of iTweet, a Twitter Web application for the iPhone. iTweet has a very involved user community within Twitter's social network, maintaining an open-door policy toward feature requests and technical support. He is a designer/developer and director of New Media Development at creative marketing agency The Illusion Factory. Colby oversees the development of Internet marketing ventures for the tech and entertainment industries. He comes from a fine arts background, with a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. The Illusion Factory, whose sweet spot is found at the nexus of creativity, technology and all forms of media, has been entrusted to market and promote more than $6 billion dollars in live, broadcast and filmed entertainment.

James Tagg, CEO, Truphone

An innovator in every sense, Truphone CEO James Tagg’s track record is one of successfully bringing new mobile and other technologies to market. Most recently, as MD of Fastmobile Europe, he launched both Mobile Instant Messaging and Push-to-Talk with carriers in Germany, Italy and the UK, while earlier in his career he developed the touchscreen technology found today in most of the world’s public access touchscreens. Prior to Fastmobile, James worked as Director for Technology Innovation at Zefer, a strategy-led Internet services company. Before this, he invented a touchscreen technology, founded Moonstone Technology in 1989 to develop it, and sold the company to MicroTouch Systems Ltd - now 3M - in 1994. James holds multiple patents both in mobile and touchscreen technologies.
