Enabling and Addressing the Expanding Networking Needs

Network Operators today are in a competitive environment that requires a trusted third party to enable the migration and implementation of services. Sometimes the issue is the portability of a number, sometimes it’s the security needed to interconnect networks. Always it requires an interface that allows for transactions to be completed and cleared without delaying service. These panel members talk about the issues involved in providing network services from cradle to grave even when the relationship with service providers change.



Chris Celiberti, Director, Advanced Services, NeuStar

Chris Celiberti works in the strategic technologies group at NeuStar, Inc. and is a telecommunications VoIP veteran focused on the OSS\BSS space. Chris has worked in positions including System Engineering, Product and Program Management and Business Development for several fortune 500 companies. Additionally, Chris has been an active participant in several global standards groups as well as an industry speaker.



Micaela Giuhat, Consultant

Micaela Giuhat is responsible for developing strategic pricing for the Nortel carrier business.



Prior to joining Nortel, Giuhat held executive positions in product management and business development in several startup companies, as well as Tekelec/IEX Corporation and Newbridge Networks where she was responsible for creating and launching different products. Other experiences include system-engineering positions at Bell Northern Research (Nortel), TELRAD, and BEZEK.



Giuhat holds a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bucharest, Romania and a Masters of Business Administration Degree from the University of Ottawa, Canada.



Tom Kershaw, Vice President, Next Generation Services, VeriSign, Inc.

Tom Kershaw, Vice President – Next Generation Networks, is responsible for a suite of new service offerings for next-generation networks worldwide. Tom joined VeriSign with more than twelve years of product development and marketing experience in telecommunications and technology.

Tom has provided leadership for core product design and market vision for VoIP, Intelligent Network systems and enhanced services.

Prior to VeriSign, Tom was Chief Technical Officer at SS8 Networks, where he was responsible for overall engineering design and vision for voice messaging, VoIP, and Lawful Intercept products. Prior to SS8 Networks, Tom was Vice President of Strategic Marketing at Clarent Corporation, where he was responsible for product design and vision for IP Clearinghouses, IP-Voice VPNs, and enhanced services. Tom has also worked as Internet Program Manager at Unisys Corporation, and as a Group Manager for Dow ,Jones/IDD.

Tom holds a B.A. in Economics/Political Science from New York University, an M.A. in Latin American Economics from the University of London and a DIP in Economics from the London School of Economics.



Richard Koch, CEO, RNK Communications

CEO Richard Koch, along with Joy Tessier, established RNK in 1997. RNK has grown from a small regional CLEC to a full-service telecommunications provider with a global presence and the nationwide technology infrastructure to process billions of usage minutes annually.? Koch?s career as an entrepreneur and telecommunications innovator spans more than 25 years, including a number of central leadership roles in businesses on the cutting edge of phone/computer convergence technologies. Koch became president of Boston CitiNet, a pioneering videotext company, which grew into a national franchise, American CitiNet. Subsequently, Koch became president of Untraceable Phone Calls and of Safe Call, a joint venture between Shared Technologies and Cycomm Corporation. Koch then served as president of Cycomm?s Privacall division prior to the establishment of RNK Communications.



Tom Moresco, Senior Director Interconnection Solutions, Telcordia Technologies, Inc.

Tom Moresco leads product management for Telcordia® Service Interconnection Registry, an Interconnection Solution that enables service providers to efficiently manage routing information exchange for direct service interconnection over IP to reduce operating expenses. A 25-year veteran in the telecommunications industry, Tom has extensive experience in consulting and managing initiatives in network planning, interconnection revenue assurance, and interconnection routing administration. Tom’s started his career at Bell Laboratories. He holds M.S. and B.S. degrees in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
