The IMS Forum® Presentation of Results from its third IMS Plugfest™

The IMS Forum® , the industry’s only association dedicated to IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) application and service interoperability certification will announce at the Fall VON show the results from its announced third IMS Plugfest™ completed just before the show. The IMS Forum Plugfests deliver interoperability for cost effective (OPEX and CAPEX) "Quadruple Play" revenue generating applications and services.



Michael Khalilian, Chairman & President, IMS Forum

Michael Khalilian is Chairman & President of the IMS Forum (Quadruple Play Association). He also serves as CTO-CIO Advisor/Board Advisor to a number of startups. Previously, Khalilian was CTO and Board member/Advisor at eLEC/VoX Communications (Pervasip), Volo Communications (VoIP Inc.), Kancharla, American Cable Services, and Chief Technologist/Advisor to NTT Business Groups. Prior to this he was head of technology/Senior Director of Technology, Architecture, Applications and Business Development with Time Warner business groups.
Mr. Khalilian has supported the telecommunications industry for over 20 years as one of its most visionary and forward thinking participants through numerous speaking engagements, bylined articles, published books and executive leadership. He has also served as Chairman of the Softswitch Consortium (VoIP standards group), International Packet Communications Consortium (IPCC), and IP Carrier Multimedia Coalitions. He has also served as a judge for the Communications Technology EOS Awards at NXTcomm 2007, the Technology SuperQuest Awards at GlobalComm 2006 and the SuperComm SuperQuest Awards from 2000-2005.


Scott Poretsky, Director, Carrier Network Engineering, Reef Point Systems

Scott Poretsky, Director of Carrier Network Engineering for Reef Point Systems, is a telecommunications industry-recognized authority on next-generation carrier network performance-, quality assurance- and security-testing who regularly participates in standards committees and the public speaking circuit. He is the Chairperson of the IMS Forum’s Technical Group, IETF Benchmarking Methodology Working Group Member and Standards Author; an IEEE Senior Member, Speaker and Session Chair for the IEEE's Communications Quality and Reliability (CQR) Conference and at the Annual Worldwide IETF Conference. In the IETF's Benchmarking Methodology Working Group, he is a coauthor of industry standards for SIP Performance, IGP Convergence, DiffServ and MPLS Fast Reroute Failover Benchmarking.



Scott is also a key contributor in the development of software-based SIP performance testing tools and is regularly invited to speak about network testing challenges and solutions at service provider conferences, including the North American Network Operators Group (NANOG) as well as MPLS, VoIP and other industry standard-related conferences.



As Reef Point Systems’ Director of Quality Assurance, he leads validation of VoIP, FMC, IMS and UMA security solutions for deployment in service provider networks. Prior to Reef Point, he was Manager of Development Test at Avici Systems, where he validated routing and MPLS solutions for deployment in high availability core networks. He also held communications engineering positions at General DataComm and Raytheon Company.



Scott has an MSEE from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and BSEE from the University of Vermont and has been awarded a patent for networking technology.



Manuel Vexler, Chair, Technical Working Group, IMS Forum

Manuel Vexler is well known for his expertise in voice and multimedia over Internet, brings over 20 years of experience to roles such as the CTO of CopperCom and vice president of IMS Interoperability at the IMS Forum.

He has worked toward the development of new Internet standards and services through leadership in groups such as the DSL, SIP and IMS Forums. Manuel has presented at over 50 global conferences. In 2006, Manuel participated in the World Congress on IT (WCIT) as a panelist on future technologies.

Manuel drove high tech M&As at Cisco, and launched new technologies at CopperCom, AMD, Alcatel (Newbridge) and Nortel. Within these organizations, he led new initiatives and drove North American and international market expansion through the development of new products and market strategies. As an entrepreneur, he has provided consulting services on technology, marketing, business development and mergers and aquisitons, and co-founded two companies., MotorWiz and Integra100.

Manuel holds an M.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Iasi, a network engineering certificate from the University of Toronto and an executive marketing certificate from Queens University
