The world of communications is in the midst of a massive convergence. IP has opened the door for a host of multimedia services in which voice, video, and data are integrated and delivered over the converged IP network. As a result, service providers worldwide are discovering new ways to build revenues and enhance profits, while IT managers are finding highly efficient and flexible solutions for managing globally distributed offices. Equipment vendors are well positioned to capture market share and drive new business, utilizing converged application platform (CAP) technology. CAP technology delivers the ideal platform for converged applications by integrating routing, firewall/VPN, IP-PBX, media server, media gateway and wireless LAN in a single, multi-function device. Intel supports this powerful emergence of “multiple play” services with reference designs for CAPs, built on versatile, scalable standards-based building blocks. Discover how you can improve time-to-market and profitability by incorporating Intel® products and reference designs into your converged solutions.
