The network is under attack!. When you look at the Internet, malicious activities are increasing. Viruses, spoofs. fraud, and DoS attacks being done by hackers and phreakers. How do session controllers how manage these issues.



Seamus Hourihan, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management, Acme Packet

Seamus Hourihan, who first coined the term “session border control,” has driven industry recognition of the critical importance of the new product category created by Acme Packet. He is a prolific speaker on the conference and tradeshow circuit and is the author of several networking guidebooks and numerous articles. Recently, Seamus was recognized by Internet Telephony magazine as one of the “Top 100 Voices of IP Communications.” Seamus brings over 25 years of experience to Acme Packet in executive management, marketing, product management and business development roles at voice over IP, IP networking, web infrastructure and computer companies. Seamus was vice president of marketing for internetworking leader Wellfleet and, after its merger with Synoptics, Bay Networks (now Nortel) for nearly seven years. During his tenure, annual revenue grew from $10 million to $2 billion and Inc. recognized Wellfleet as “America’s Fastest Growing Company” for two consecutive years. More recently, Seamus was vice president of marketing for Pingtel, widely recognized as a leader in SIP products and technology. He also held management positions at Data General, MASSCOMP and Bright Tiger and has operated his own consulting company. Seamus holds an AB degree from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Babson College.



John Longo, VP Marketing, NexTone Communications

John joins NexTone with an extensive background in global marketing and product management and more than 20 years' experience in telecom. John most recently served as a senior analyst at Heavy Reading covering VoIP platforms and services. Prior to Heavy Reading, John was the head of data services at Global Crossing where he managed a $400 million P&L segment and built the company’s Tier 1 Internet backbone business. John established Global Crossing’s VoIP business evolution strategy and was a founding member of an industry-wide inter-carrier compensation forum. Prior to Global Crossing, John spent 15 years with AT&T, serving in a variety of leadership positions, including head of marketing for Internet services and head of Internet sales for the European joint venture AT&T - Unisource (AUCS).



Alan Percy, Director, Business Development, AudioCodes

Mr. Percy is Director of Business Development at AudioCodes, a leading provider of Voice over IP Telephony enabling technology. In this role, Mr. Percy is responsible for identifying market trends and building relationships to foster new business opportunities. Mr. Percy joined AudioCodes in 2001 and brings over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications, networking and wireless equipment industries. Mr. Percy holds a BA in Computer Science from the University of Buffalo, has had a number of papers published in various telecommunications technical journals. Mr. Percy is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and was recently named to the 100 Top Voices of IP Communications by Internet Telephony magazine.


Stéphane Téral, Analyst, Infonetics

With 18 years of telecommunications industry experience, and having been the trusted advisor at some of the world's largest telecom providers and manufacturers, Mr. Téral is regarded as one of the top analysts in his field. He joined Infonetics in 2006 after eight years with analyst firm RHK, where he developed their European optical coverage and helped carriers migrate from PSTN to next-gen networks. Prior to RHK, Mr. Téral was an Alcatel engineer and project manager, where he deployed the CATV networks that allowed the 1992 Olympics and grand opening of Euro Disney to be televised using fiber optics for the first time.
