VON Returns to Mexico City. February 26 - 29, 2008. Centro Banamex. Mexico City, Mexico
Whats Happening in Mexico?
Why is Mexico's IP communications development and deployment growing so rapidly? Demand for wireless and broadband services is on the rise and the Mexican consumer market is beginning to see the benefits of competition. All of this at a time when Fixed and Mobile Convergence promises a new framework in how we communicate in business. Dual Mode phones, Femtocells, and a variety of other wireless infrastructure and device technologies are on the horizon.
VON Mexico is going to explore the full breadth of FMC this year and it is going to do so with the understanding that, unlike its neighbors to the north, Mexico is able to take advantage of 3G and 4G opportunities much more quickly and with far greater benefit to the user. This is particularly advantageous given the fact that many network implementations and services can be rolled out in a way that minimizes capital impact.
This is not to say that Voice over IP is dead. To be sure, VoIP is at the core of most opportunities in communicaitons and could, in fact, get to a point where almost all telephone interfaces being sold in future are actually softphones on a computer. If you thought the revolution in IP communications was not coming to Mexico – you'd better think again. Networks are quickly becoming IP-based, and the benefit to the consumer and enterprise is just beginning to be explored.
So why come to Mexico for this year's VON Conference and Expo? Mexico is clearly a major communications hub for Latin America. For service providers, developers, systems integrators, resellers, hardware and software vendors, and any communications experts in the region, VON Mexico will bring new insights for those looking to profit from the many opportunities available in Latin America today.
