AccessLine Taps Quintum Gateways

09/26/2007

Hosted VoIP provider AccessLine Communications Corp. (Booth 600-602) announced it has selected Quintum Technologies’ Tenor gateways to be placed on its customers’ premises when delivering digital access services, such as T1s and PRIs. The company sells its services through agents.

AccessLine will deploy the Tenor DX product to provide one to four T1 interfaces to a customer’s existing PBX. In spring, Quintum released a survivable version of the DX that also provides survivability for local SIP endpoints. It assures that basic calling functions will continue even if connectivity to the central or hosted IP PBX is lost.

To simplify deployment, AccessLine is using Quintum’s automatic provisioning feature, which works in conjunction with AccessLine’s existing back-office system to request the download of the relevant configuration file for that specific Tenor. The entire process is carried out using standard secure signaling protocols with individual unit authentication to insure maximum system integrity. AccessLine also can use this function to perform automatic software upgrades and system maintenance tasks.

“The auto-provisioning capability in the AccessLine network allows them to focus on growing their business without concern of the CPE deployment time and expense,” added Chuck Rutledge, vice president of marketing for Quintum. AccessLine offers its SmartVoice T1 service which includes local, long-distance, toll-free and international calling as well as enhanced features such as fax mail boxes, unified messaging and follow-me services.
