Flextronics Software Systems (FSS, Booth 68) now offers SigASN, a scalable signaling module that serves as the core of a WiMAX (802.16e) ASN gateway.

SigASN is an off-the-shelf, platform-independent signaling framework that complies with WiMAX Forum standards and lets equipment manufacturers develop 802.16e ASN gateways, with their own platforms and network configurations.

SigASN contains several advanced features, such as a CLI Management Toolkit; integrated IP routing stacks; and R7 interface hooks for easy FP integration.

FSS, as part of its SigASN product development plans, is planning to develop a base station simulator (for testing the R6 interface) and can offer its own SigASN-based simulator to test the R4 interface.

Apart from SigASN, FSS offers specialized customization and integration services. The company also provides a comprehensive set of proprietary IPv6-compliant Datacom stacks, such as RADIUS, DHCP, and IGMP, which serve as building blocks for the ASN gateway.

A member of the WiMAX Forum, FSS has been actively tracking the WiMAX initiative and studying the MAC standardizations of the IEEE. FSS said this has helped the company develop its SigASN product with the progression of the WiMAX specifications, ensuring customers are protected from added costs of technology upgrades.
