Hosted VoIP provider Alteva LLC announced Thursday that it has become a certified Polycom Reseller and is now able to offer its voice service with Polycom’s HD Voice SoundPoint IP 550 and 650 models.

Introduced in September 2006, the SoundPoint IP 650 is Polycom’s firstdesktop phone with Polycom’s HD Voice technology. It includes a micro-browser feature and supports shared call/bridged line appearances and the busy lamp field (BLF) functionality. The SoundPoint IP 650 delivers all of its capabilities through an intuitive user interface, featuring a backlit 320x160 graphical LCD display and a combination of 26 dedicated hard keys and four context-sensitive soft keys for one-button access to telephony features.

The 550 was introduced in March 2007 and is a four-line HD phone.

The Alteva hosted IP PBX is available in 48 states and nine countries. It includes options such as high-definition voice, call recording, call log reporting, conference calling, call forwarding, mobile access and other phone and network features.

In a press statement, customer Joel Pina, CFO, Keystone Risk Partners, said: “We have experienced a leap in voice quality using Polycom’s high-definition SoundPoint IP 550 phone with the Alteva solution. In addition to crystal clear voice, we have significantly improved integration with Microsoft Outlook, improved communications with remote offices and gained long-term cost savings.”
