GOP, Democrats Duke It Out on Twitter

Twitter, once thought to be a future-less playground for people with short attention spans, now is proving to be quite the battleground between Republicans and Democrats.

Most believed Twitter would be a tool better used by the left side of the political aisle, but it turns out that Republicans have had a lot of success creating discussions and offering tips on organizing (health care forums, anyone?). “Top Conservatives on Twitter” has proven to be successful for the GOP.

Over the weekend, the White House announced that its Twitter account surpassed the 1 million follower mark. Former presidential candidate John McCain reached the milestone a few weeks ago.
