OSS Telecom, Acme Packet Team for VoIP in Russia

OSS Telecom, a systems integrator and supplier of wholesale long-distance services in Russia, has chosen the Net-Net 4250 session border controller (SBC) from Acme Packet (APKT) to expand the capacity and reach of its national network, maximize quality of service and reduce costs.

Currently, OSS Telecom has deployed Acme Packet’s SBC in Moscow, St. Petersburg and two other major cities. It plans to add SBCs to three more to allow IP interconnection with other national service providers.

Besides the ability to handle growth, OSS Telecom says it picked Acme Packet based on operational savings and several important features, including Acme Packet’s proven high-availability configuration with complete check-pointing of signaling, media and configuration state for nonstop SBC operation.
