Full KIT: PhoenixSoft Softswitch Supports Port Leasing

01/07/2009

As the economy makes for a tough operating climate, capital expenses are being scaled back. But that’s not stopping service providers from wanting to deploy VoIP and SIP services. Into the breach is KIT Communications Inc., which offers a port leasing program for operators. To support the application, KIT has deployed PhoenixSoft Inc.’s Cirrus softswitch platform.

KIT caters to companies that want to save capex by leasing KIT’s switch technology on a per-port basis. KIT also provides support for the startup and long-term management of their products and services. Typical applications for leasing customers include Class 4 and Class 5 VoIP solutions, prepaid and postpaid calling, and wholesale carrier routing.

“We made this choice because PhoenixSoft has the tools and reporting that our port leasing customers now demand,” said Kevin Gunderson, president and general manager. “In addition, we now have the ability to provide our customers with proven prepaid and call-back features, as well as technologically advanced SIP, IP PBX and IP phone applications.”
