Qualcomm Plans Big, Fast Mobile TV Push?

Qualcomm Inc.(QCOM) reportedly is ready to flex its mobile media muscles and very quickly bring 40 markets online for its MediaFLO mobile TV market after the digital TV transition, which originally was set for mid-February.

But instead of a phased rollout that could take many months, or longer, the operator is planning a quick turn-up of the many markets, in a move that could be a much-needed shot in the arm for mobile TV availability.

MedaFLO already provides mobile TV service used by some top-tier wireless operators and possibly could stand to attract smaller providers with a quicker than anticipated service deployment.
