The iPhone Explodes!

The iPhone can do many things. Spontaneous combustion, however? Well, you probably don’t want an app for that.

Nonetheless, apparently the iPhone has that capability built in. A handful of reports of exploding iPhones and iPod Touches in Europe has prompted Apple to look into the matter, according to the European Commission. Tales of screens shattering and popping and second-degree burns aside, Apple maintains these are isolated incidents, rather than a hardware issue that requires a massive recall.
