Voice 2.0 Success at Jaduka, Twilio

Voice 2.0 continues to show promising signs: This week Jaduka, a developer of Web services APIs for creating voice-enabled apps, hired a new CEO. And Twilio, which offers on-demand open APIs for Voice 2.0, got itself some funding.

Jaduka has hired former Comverse CTO Thomas Howe as CEO, known for his embrace of mash-ups and open APIs. Jaduka is owned by network operator NetworkIP.

Twilio meanwhile announced initial funding by Founders Fund and individual investor Mitchell Kapor. It also named new customers, including Cheetos. No word on whether users are left with orange stains after using the app.

Jaduka and Twilio join British Telecom plc-owned Ribbit, ifbyPhone and BroadSoft in making headway in voice-enabling Internet and productivity applications.
