ARRIS Dials up New Cable Phone Modem

ARRIS Inc. has announced a new model of its cable modems with integrated telephony interfaces. This new model of the Touchstone Telephony Modem features a more-compact design that allows indoor installation. It also includes optional battery backup for four or eight hours. The product has two RJ-11 jacks for telephones, as well as 10/100 Base T Ethernet or USB ports. The new version is currently in trials with several cable operators.
