Andy Abramson
Editor-Blogger, VoIP WatchAndy Abramson is CEO of Comunicano, Inc., a Del Mar, CA based asymmetrical marketing and public relations agency. In addition to overseeing Comunicano's client related activities, he also authors one of the most widely read VoIP Blogs, Andy Abramson's VoIPWatch and, since 1998, has served as co-host of KenRadio's "World Technology RoundUp". Abramson has a parallel background in technology, consumer, B2B, sports and entertainment marketing that spans 33 years. Online since 1980, he most recently has been named a research fellow and advisory board member of the Society for New Communications Research. He is also a member of the board of directors and treasurer of the Media Bloggers Association, as well as an advisory board member to multiple early stage and privately held companies.

David Aronoff

Prior to Brix, John developed the Burnham Group, a marketing consultancy comprised of a client base of storage vendors, research firms and early stage silicon startups, built through his broad base of experience and network of venture capitalists, analysts and entrepreneurs.

Anand Chandrasekher
Sr. Vice President & GM, Ultra Mobility Group, Intel CorporationAnand Chandrasekher is Senior Vice president and General Manager of Intel's Ultra Mobility Group. This group is responsible for Intel's low power products – delivering leading edge technology for mobile internet devices. Chandrasekher's responsibilities include strategic direction, platform planning, design, development, marketing and business management.
Prior to his current assignment, Chandrasekher was Senior Vice President and General Manager of Intel's Sales and Marketing Group; in this capacity, he had responsibility for worldwide sales and marketing operations and served Intel's global customer and market needs.
Previously, Chandrasekher was Vice President and General Manager of the Mobile Platforms Group. Chandrasekher led the team responsible for the architecture, design, development and marketing of Intel's platform solutions for the mobile computing segment. He led the team that delivered — Intel® Centrino™ mobile technology—to the market; and, under his leadership the mobile group became the fastest growing business unit at Intel. He was promoted to Intel Corporate Vice President in 2003.
Prior to his Mobile Platforms Group role, Chandrasekher was Vice President of the Intel Architecture Group and General Manager of the Intel Architecture Marketing Group, where he led strategic planning and marketing activities for Intel's enterprise, mobile and desktop platform products – in this capacity, he was responsible for the launch and ramp of the Intel® Pentium® 4 processor family of products. In 1997, Chandrasekher formed and led Intel's Workstation Platform Group and was its General Manager through 1999 – under his leadership, Intel's workstation business grew into a multi-billion dollar business. From 1995 to 1997 he served as Technical Assistant to Craig Barrett, current Intel Chairman.
Chandrasekher earned his bachelor's degree in computer science and a master's degree in engineering from Cornell University. He received an MBA from Cornell's Johnson Graduate School of Management. Chandrasekher remains an active supporter of Cornell's programs and of the American India Foundation; he is an elected member of Cornell's Council of Trustees. He has been with Intel since 1988.

Matt Collier

Previously, Collier was Senior Vice President with Level 3 Communications where Collier had responsibility for all Voice Application Services. Prior to Level 3, Collier was Founder, CEO and Chairman of Telverse Communications, Inc., (sold to Level 3 Communications). Telverse built the first nationally available business grade IP Centrex service offering in North America. Additionally, Collier has held senior management positions at Polycom, ViaVideo (sold to Polycom), MCI, PictureTel, NBI and Sperry Univac.
Collier has over (25) years experience building successful sales, product management and marketing organizations in telecommunication product and service companies. Collier has a BA degree from the University of Memphis, Tennessee.

John Dix

A 27 year industry veteran, Dix started his career at International Data Corp. in 1980 where he was editor of an executive newsletter covering developments in networking and distributed processing. He joined Computerworld in 1984 as the newsweekly's senior communications editor, then in 1986 was part of the team that launched Network World. Dix has served on the boards of many industry trade shows, including Interop, Comnet, Comdex, PC Expo and SatCon.

Mr. Hoffman received a bachelor of science and a master's of business administration from University of Missouri, St. Louis.

Thomas Howe
CEO, Thomas Howe CompanyThomas McCarthy-Howe has nineteen years of experience in telecommunications product development. He is currently an independent consultant to service providers, enterprises and equipment vendors in the design and development of next generation communications equipment and services.
Thomas has held senior management and engineering positions at industry leaders such as Comverse, Versatel Networks, PictureTel and Aware. As a member of the PictureTel engineering team, Mr. Howe designed audio and video software of the first PC-based video conferencing system, as well as software for the original version of NetMeeting, and as Aware Inc.'s software architect for the first commercially available ADSL chipset. In 2007, Thomas won the O'Reilly Emerging Telephony Mashup Contest.
In addition to his writing and teaching, he currently serves on several technical advisory boards and boards of directors.
David Jodoin

In his role as CEO, he provides the drive and corporate leadership for the Iperia as it continues to expand its product portfolio and customer base. Prior to joining Iperia, Jodoin served as CEO for Alpha NetSolutions, Inc. and Cerepoint, Inc. In addition, he's held several senior level positions including executive vice president and general manager of the Vantive Corporation. Jodoin joined Vantive through the acquisition of Innovative Computer Concepts, a company he founded and served as CEO and CTO.
Veli-Pekka Kivimaki
Senior Project Manager, NokiaFor the past 7 years, Veli-Pekka Kivimaki has worked with mobile real-time communications applications, engineering both IP-based voice and video solutions for various mobile platforms. By holding roles in development, architecture and management functions, he has collaborated with major telecommunications vendors and operators on mobilizing VoIP solutions. He has been involved in pioneering new technology projects, such as real-time video sharing between mobile phones.
In his current role, he is responsible for VoIP engineering for the Nokia E-series devices, and is involved in different phases of the product lifecycle. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Espoo-Vantaa Institute of Technology and has also been a visiting researcher at the University of Texas at Austin.
Dan Klein
Senior Associate, Vesbridge PartnersDan has been involved with high-tech companies since 1995 as a research analyst, a consultant, and an investor. Prior to joining Vesbridge, Danny was a Senior Analyst at the Yankee Group, where he served as the leading authority on next generation voice architectures. He authored numerous articles and publications and managed the creation of Yankee's global forecasts on the communications equipment market. In addition, Danny acted as a strategic partner to service providers, equipment vendors, and the financial community, providing tactical advice on an ongoing basis. Before that, Danny worked at both leading equipment vendors including Sycamore Networks, and financial institutions such as Bear Stearns.
Martine Lapierre
Carriers Group / Executive Management Team & VP Competitive Transformation, Chief Marketing Officer, Alcatel-LucentMartine Lapierre was until 2007 the Chief Technology Officer of the Alcatel Wireless Group, and of the Carriers Networking Group. She was in parallel a member of the Board of Directors of the IMS Consortium and chaired at the European Community a workgroup on Mobile Content for the eMobility in 2003/05. She was previously President of a Switching Business Unit of Alcatel. She joined Alcatel in 1987 where she worked as Marketing Director for the Metropolitan Area and for the Switching, and later as the Director of the Alcatel Corporate Research Center IT Department. In parallel, she was President of the TINA Consortium in New Jersey in 98/99. She started in France Telecom/Orange Group where she worked 10 years in switching, networking, data and services. This included an exchange program at AT&T (Pacific Bell, California).
Martine Lapierre is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications in Paris and holds a Master in Public Affairs from the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées.

Charley Lax

Mr. Lax's investment career includes investments in 41 portfolio companies, which have resulted in 29 exits thus far. His track record includes 15 public companies, of which 10 achieved market caps in excess of $1 billion. With over 16 years of venture capital experience, Mr. Lax currently serves on the boards of GBC companies including Colubris Networks, Coradiant, Ember Corporation, Incipient, and manages GBC's investment in OutStart. Additionally, Mr. Lax is a founding General Partner of both SOFTBANK Venture Capital (Mobius Venture Capital) and SOFTBANK Capital Partners, and co-created Flatiron Partners of New York City. Prior to his career in venture capital, Charley worked for a series of software companies in marketing, product management and sales roles, including Phoenix Technologies Ltd., the BIOS developer.
A graduate of Boston University with a BS degree, magna cum laude, in 1982, Charley was elected secretary of Boston University's Alumni Council in 2005 and is a member of its Executive Committee. He is also an Advisory Board member to Boston University's Office of Technology Development (OTD) Ignition Award Program. In 2001, Charley received the Alumni Award for Distinguished Service and gave the Class of 2001 Graduate School of Management commencement address titled, "Lessons Learned from the Internet Bubble." In 2003, the Boston University Entrepreneurial Management Institute awarded him the Henry Morgan Award for outstanding contribution to the Institute. Charley is also a founding judge of the university-wide Boston University Entrepreneurial Management Institute's yearly business plan competition.
Anatoli Levine
Senior Director of Software Support, RADVISIONAnatoli Levine is Senior Director of Software Support at RADVISION. He joined RADVISION in 1998 as a senior software engineer, working on all aspects of designing and implementing the company's H.323 solutions. Since 1999, Levine has been responsible for a group of engineers that provide support and consulting services for all RADVISION Technology Business Unit's ToolKit products implementing international standards like SIP, H.323, MGCP/MEGACO, 3G-324M and others.
Since 2006, Levine is a President of IMTC – International Multimedia Telecommunications Consortium – an organization facilitating open standards interoperabilty of video delivery technologies.

John Macario
President, Savatar, Inc.John Macario is president and one of the founders of Savatar, a management consulting company that helps telecommunications clients succeed in selling VoIP solutions to the Small and Medium Business (SMB) market. The firm has worked with large carriers, wholesalers, equipment providers and software developers to define product, establish sales channels and optimize sales techniques for VoIP products in the SMB market.
Prior to founding Savatar, John held senior positions with Digitas, a Boston-based direct marketing company where he worked on numerous projects in the telecommunications industry. He has worked as a technical architect and brand manager for multinational corporations and has consulted to the Governments of Canada, Ireland and Scotland on a broad range of technical and marketing issues. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Master of Science degree in physics from Dartmouth College.
David S. Marshak
Program Director and Senior Product Manager, Unified Communications & Collaboration (UC2), IBM Lotus SoftwareDavid Marshak leads Real-time Collaboration and Unified Communications product strategy and planning for IBM Lotus Software, including Instant Messaging, Web Conferencing, VoIP, telephony, and video. He is the product manager of Sametime -- the industry-leading enterprise Instant Messaging and Web Conferencing product.
Prior to joining IBM in January 2005, Marshak was an internationally known industry analyst and consultant with Patricia Seybold Group for 18 years.
Marshak has spoken worldwide to audiences, large and small, on emerging technologies and future trends. He is often called upon to be a featured speaker and panel moderator at numerous industry conferences such as Collaboration Technologies Conference, Burton Group Catalyst Conference, COMDEX, InternetWorld, Groupware, NetWorld, and Lotusphere, among others. He has appeared as an expert commentator on PBS, CNBC, and on National Public Radio and has lectured on collaboration at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Babson College. Marshak has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, New York Times, Business Week, and Investor's Business Daily as well as the technical press.

Fanny Mlinarsky

In 2001 Fanny founded Azimuth Systems, the leading provider of wireless test equipment, and was the company's Chief Technical Officer for 5 years. John Morgan

Hunter Newby

Adrian Scrase
Vice President, European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI)Adrian Scrase is Vice President within the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) with responsibility for International Partnership Projects. He played a central role in creation of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) and is responsible for the operations of the 3GPP Project Co-ordination Group. He also Heads the Mobile Competence Centre (MCC) which is an International team of 20 experts who provide comprehensive support to the Project.
He has more than 25 years experience in the telecommunications field, which includes 20 years of experience in standardization.

Stephen Smith
CEO, Ampersand, Inc.Steve is CEO of Ampersand, Inc., a technology management consulting firm specializing in IP communications and Web 2.0 technologies. Prior to this role, Steve was Chief Scientist at Lavalife, a leader in internet and voice dating applications. His principal focus was integrating VoIP and other IP communications into the company's products. While in this role he received the prestigious Silver Award for innovation from the Canadian IT industry for converting a large scale IVR to VoIP.
Ampersand has recently released VoiceGlue, integrating Asterisk and openVxi to provide a scalable, standards-compliant IVR solution entirely based on open source technologies.
Steve has been a frequent speaker at VON and other industry forums. He holds a BS Computer Science from Cornell University.

Brough Turner
SVP & CTO, NMS CommunicationsBrough Turner is Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of NMS Communications, where he oversees the evolution of NMS's technology and product architectures. Mr. Turner has a broad business background, and contributes to business strategy and market development at NMS, but his principal focus remains on engineering and technology. His current interests include wireless video, multimodal applications, and 3G wireless infrastructure. Mr. Turner writes and speaks widely on telecommunications topics. He holds a BSEE from MIT.

Joe Varello
Vice President of Digital Voice Product Management, CablevisionJoseph Varello joined Cablevision as vice president of digital voice product management in August 2004. Mr. Varello is responsible for full life cycle product management and development of the company's digital voice-over-cable (VoIP) offering, Optimum Voice®, for both consumer and business market segments. Additionally, he is responsible for Optimum Online® within the Small & Medium Business (SMB) segment.
With more than 1.2M customers as of year-end 2006, Optimum Voice is the fastest growing and most widely deployed digital voice-over-cable service in the nation. Optimum Voice became available across Cablevision's service area of 4.4 million homes in late 2003, and during the fourth quarter of last year alone added 108K new customers.
Mr. Varello joined Cablevision from Con Edison Communications, where he was executive director of business development, responsible for new revenue creation, strategic alliances, new service development and business planning. Previously, Mr. Varello served as executive vice president of marketing and sales for Everest Broadband Networks, a provider of high-speed Internet access, long-distance telephone service, satellite TV and related broadband applications in multi-tenant commercial and residential buildings.
Mr. Varello began his career at a mini computer manufacturer in 1984. He soon moved into sales, marketing and managerial positions at the NYNEX Corporation, Bell Atlantic Internetworks & Multimedia Solutions and the Jannon Group. Mr. Varello earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Towson University in Maryland.
